Your children‘s welfare and happiness is our utmost priority. We put safety first, so your children can feel secure and confident, and you can relax. Our staff are fully qualified, well-trained, and DBS checked. Our company is regulated and licensed by the appropriate bodies.
Below we have compiled a list of what to ask for when choosing your child‘s activity holiday:
The Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) is now replaced by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). They check police records and information held by the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA), in order to approve an application to work with children. Everybody whose work includes contact with children should carry an up–to–date DBS check. At Act 2 Cam we ensure that all our staff obtain Enhanced DBS checks to work with children and carry their original Enhanced DBS disclosure document. It is an essential document which helps to safeguard young people and give parents peace of mind.
To work lawfully as a Teacher in the UK you must have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Unqualified teachers may not legally be known as "Teachers", although they may be be known as "Instructors". While we recognise the valid contribution of unqualified instructors to children‘s activities, here at Act 2 Cam we insist on high quality teacher training and qualifications from our staff.
The GTCE is a professional body which keeps records of Qualified Teachers in England. Being a registered, qualified teacher is an important assurance to the public and parents about the high quality of the teacher workforce at Act 2 Cam.
“The purpose of the GTCE is to protect children and young people by insuring that the conduct and practice of those on the register does not fall short of expected standards.”
Our exacting standards fully comply with the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DSCF) guidelines. Hundreds of schools across the UK entrust their creative activity courses to us. Local authorities support us, as we demand the highest safety standards at every level. We carry out rigorous risk assessments and our comprehensive training programmes ensure all our staff are fully versed in safety procedure and expectations.
We have full public liability insurance up to £10,000,000, through Hiscox Insurance Company Ltd, for all the activities we undertake. We do not arrange additional insurance because our activities are low-risk and take place in such safe environments, however, we can put you in touch with a reputable company should you wish to arrange your own insurance.
Please contact us if you have any queries about our Putting Safety First policy. We want to guarantee peace of mind, so you can relax in the knowledge that your children can be safe and feel safe during their time with us. We want your children to feel confident to embrace every new experience we offer at Act 2 Cam, so that they can return home filled with with excitement, tales of new achievements and a host of new friends.
