ACT 2 CAM was established as an after-school club in 2008 by professional actor and Head of Drama, Stephen Woods. Over the last decade, the company has grown in size and reputation, to become the leading youth and community film company in the North East.
To inspire our students to discover their own confidence, creativity and community, following their chosen paths in acting, design, filmmaking, producing and creative writing, at our weekly drama classes, annual film shoot and summer film camps.
We are a person-centred and inclusive drama school. We believe students should control the content and the direction of their own projects. Our groups are split by age and location, with each drama group taking charge of their own stories, setting their own themes, characters, goals and budgets.
We promise to provide a positive, supportive environment, where our students feel valued and empowered. We will nurture young people’s self-awareness, self-acceptance and self-belief. We will build our student’s confidence, creativity and community.
